Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking in some World Cup air in Killington. Before the race I felt really good, my injury has completely healed and is not an issue any more. That is why I was particularly excited about the kick-off to the season!
I was satisfied with my first run and the 5th place. Of course, in the second round I would have liked to hold on to or even improve my position. The conditions, however, were really hard-going and I found it hard to find the confidence to push myself to the limit. Snowfall, fog and a poor view of the ground were not the best conditions for a comeback. Therefore, I have to accept rank 19.
I’m just glad to be back in the World Cup again, now it’s time to get into the rhythm of the competitions and to use each race to build up my self-confidence. And I’m confident that other placements will come out again 😉
On Saturday afternoon, I went on to Montreal, from where today I am flying to Calgary. The next three races are being held in Lake Louise next week. I am also looking forward to the Downhill and the Super G later in the season.
